It’s a series where you will find makeup/beauty products there are very well known side by side with their proved dupe. Now let me tell you something. Reading about a product being a dupe of another one is a tricky thing, as without really seeing the comparison, you end up buying the dupe and it’s not delivering at all. Your money needs to be well spent and not wasted and it’s really hard to understand why some magazines/bloggers/influencers would do such a thing, misleading the readers. How many times I’ve purchased “dupes” of the Sidecar eyeshadow from Urban Decay, only to find out it’s not similar at alll.

For this second part I have prepared 5 items with their correspondent dupe. The dupes come from the drugstore and they are much more affordable than the product they have an identical final result with. So let’s get started and be mesmerized of what I found for you (and especially me) this time.
These two lip glosses are truly amazing. If one of them is discontinued or out of stock, you have the alternative. Have in mind only that the drugstore one is less than half the price of the high-end one. The smell is also different, one smells like vanilla , the other one like coconut, but in the way they look on the lips and how they perform, they are absolutely identical. Both Fussy from Fenty Beauty and Moon from Maybelline are light-medium pink with pearl finish lip glosses. They are packed with conditioning ingredients that also moisturize the lips beside giving them the intense shine.

From all the makeup products of this post, I am most excited about this dupe. I didn’t see anything online about Clio Kill Lash being identical to the Mac Extended Play. I tried the Clio one, I saw it didn’t budge, transfer, breakdown during a whole summer day and I remembered the Mac one does exactly the same thing. Preferred for long lasting event makeup looks, the Mac is a must in every makeup artist’s kit. Half the price and with the same effect, I would totally rely on the Clio mascara if I need to cry tears of joy or have my makeup on for days. BTW , the Clio mascara will only come off with a biphasic makeup remover, an oil or micellar water will not manage to do that.Â
If you love drawing soft brow hairs just like me, hairs that are thin and fade into your natural brow, filling the gaps and having total control on their look, for sure you are a fan of the Urban Decay Brow Blade. As I can see ,it is the best product in this category as the felt tip is so thin and precise, the application is smooth and on point, and it is so long lasting, thorough the day and also in the pen itself. Stored horizontally I found the product to last more than 6 months even, which you know it is a miracle for this type of recipient. The pen comes with 2 sides, a felt tip and a thin pencil. Aaaand… I found the dupe for the liquid pen part. No wonder, it’s the winner of best brow pen category in the Allure 2024 Reader’s Choice Beauty Awards. I am talking about Maybelline Build a Brow Pen. Just look how precise the drawing of the hairs is. And did you check the price?Â
Beside the black and nude basic eye pencil everyone should have, a brown pencil will upgrade your makeup game. Not the classic brown, but the golden/copper one. The UD 24/7 Glide on Waterproof Pencil has been on the market for years and years and has a good reputation for it’s longevity and range of colors. The pencil applies smooth, has a creamy consistence and it leaves enough time to smudge it and work with it before it dries down and doesn’t move nowhere. It is quite challenging to take it off, so a biphasic solution or a cleansing oil will melt it down. I have found the identical dupe for the Smog shade in the Flormar Extreme Tattoo Gel Liner in 001 Glitzy Brown. Flormar is a drugstore brand with very cool makeup products that has been on the market for more than 70 years, but it’s known mostly in Europe, and that should change.
This one was a tricky comparison. All over the social media , people swear the Maybelline liquid lipstick in Seductress is an identical dupe for the Velvet Teddy. Swatching them, the difference is visible. The Maybelline has a gray, more cool undertone, but on the lips, once it is dry it looses a bit from it. And still they are not identical. Not 100%. Resembling, both medium rosy-brown matte shades, but the Mac with a warm undertone. The 065 Seductress shade is part of a liquid lipstick range that is crazy long-lasting on the lips, making it perfect for weddings and all kind of events. The only downside is that it does dry out your lips, but not more than any other resistant-proof liquid lipstick.Â
